Testing of Rudraksh

Originality of a Rudraksha can be tested by adopting following measures:

  • Eye test:
Rudraksha should have natural well-defined corns and contours. All the exterior of rudraksha has smooth kind of projection and the portion between two lines of rudraksha sturcturally different in the same beads if seen deeply. Matching the Rudraksha owned by person in the photo shown in web site related the originality of rudraksha.

  • Water test:
This mechanism involves dipping a Rudraksha bead in boiling water and letting it remain in that condition for 20 to 30 minutes. After taking out the bead if it appears with its face tempered and glue coming off, then this signifies that the bead is a fake. But as some published book tell us that sinking of Rudraksha in water is original and floating is duplicating .This saying is completely wrong. As Rudraksha is a bead made of wood, it always floats in water.

  • Scientific test:
There is no clear cut laboratory test for rudraksha.
